Chelsea line-up v Sunderland: Mourinho to rotate squad ahead of busy schedule?

first_img1 Jose Mourinho may opt to rotate his squad this weekend Chelsea continued their unbeaten start to the season with a comprehensive 5-0 demolition of Schalke 04 – a result that takes their run to a hugely impressive 19 matches in all competitions.CLICK HERE TO SEE THE UNBEATEN START RECORD CHELSEA ARE TARGETING THAT THE ARSENAL ‘INVINCIBLES’ GOT NOWHERE NEAR!Few would bet against the Blues extending that this weekend, as they travel to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland – live and exclusive on talkSPORT, Saturday from 5pm.But despite being in 14th place going into the weekend, the Black Cats can take confidence from a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge last season that thwarted Chelsea’s title challenge. The big question is whether Jose Mourinho will make many changes, that his preferred first 11 is playing so well and there are no new injury worries. But that must be weighed up alongside the consideration that Chelsea face 10 matches in 34 days, including eight Premier League fixtures, as they continue their silverware assault on every front. With that in mind, Mourinho may be tempted to start rotating his side in order to stave off injuries and keep his players fresh. The old adage says that you should never change a winning team, but Mourinho’s tendency to go against convention hints that he may use this opportunity to his advantage.Below is how Chelsea could line-up against Sunderland if Mourinho rotates the side:While changes may be expected, they will not be wholesale. Mourinho will be acutely aware of Sunderland’s ability to shock the Blues, having done so twice last year, so will want to ensure his side are in good shape to secure three points first and foremost. The squad depth he is blessed with however, means that the Portuguese can call on a wealth of experience without compensating on quality. We believe that any change will come in attack and possibly defence, with Andre Schurrle perhaps warranting a start in place of Willian and possibly Filipe Luis getting the nod over the hugely impressive, yet frequently used Cesar Azpilicueta. But Mourinho may opt for his strongest team for a potentially tricky away game, in which case, the Blues could line up like this… 1 Chelsea fans, how do you think you’ll line-up against Sunderland?
