Masab Tank: A large number of BC women laid siege to Telugu Samkshema Bhavan condemning delay in sanctioning of BC subsidy loans on Friday. The protest was organised by BC Welfare Association.Speaking to media during the protest, R Krishnaiah, president of BC Welfare Association, alleged that 5.77 lakh BCs have applied for BC subsidy loans for last three years, but government has failed to sanction loan to single applicant. Denouncing the government apathy, he said that while the state government has crores of rupees for spending on constructing new assembly and secretariat buildings, it is not coming forward to give subsidy loans to poor BCs. While Rs 5,000 crore were allocated to 12 BC caste federations, only Rs 210 crore have been spent so far, Krishnaiah said. He demanded the government to call a meeting with bankers and instruct them to give loans to BCs. BC leaders Gujja Krishna, Jayanthi, Nanda Gopal, Narsimha Naik, Satish, Naresh, Kumar, Mahender Goud and others participated in the protest.
